Green Space
UIBK | PHT
Infrastructure for educational innovations with a focus on the environment and sustainability, as well as extracurricular learning spaces, such as university gardens, Obergurgl and business partners.
Short description
In the Green Space, innovative projects are developed that link scientific research with a focus on environmental education and sustainability with experiences of nature in analogue and virtual space. Innovative perspectives on the use of living organisms in teaching are opened up and the garden is used as a research laboratory. The UIBK university garden and the PHT school garden are available for this purpose. In addition, forests, parks or museums are very suitable for the implementation of Green Space projects. In contrast to the methodology of the "Green School", the Green Space aims to establish new educational concepts in the school and not "only" represent an outdoor school. It focuses on the development, testing and systematic optimisation of teaching and learning opportunities rather than on teaching pupils.
